Job Summary
The Lead Specialty SAP Basis and Security Administrator is responsible for the strategic leadership, administration, security, performance, and availability of SAP environments across the organization. This role oversees SAP Basis operations, security governance, user access management, compliance initiatives, and technical support for SAP landscapes including SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, SAP BW, SAP Solution Manager, SAP Fiori, and related SAP platforms. The position serves as the technical authority for SAP infrastructure and security, ensuring system stability, regulatory compliance, and alignment with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities SAP Basis Administration
- Lead the installation, configuration, upgrade, patching, and maintenance of SAP systems and databases.
- Manage SAP landscape architecture, including Development, Quality Assurance, Sandbox, and Production environments.
- Monitor system performance, capacity planning, availability, and optimization initiatives.
- Coordinate SAP kernel upgrades, support package implementations, and system refresh activities.
- Manage transport management processes and change control procedures.
- Perform disaster recovery planning, backup validation, and high-availability administration.
- Support SAP cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments.
SAP Security Administration
- Design, implement, and maintain SAP security architecture and governance frameworks.
- Manage user provisioning, role administration, authorization concepts, and Segregation of Duties (SoD) controls.
- Conduct security risk assessments, audits, and compliance reviews.
- Monitor and remediate security vulnerabilities across SAP platforms.
- Support SAP GRC Access Control and related governance solutions.
- Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
Leadership and Governance
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to SAP Basis and Security team members.
- Establish operational standards, best practices, and service-level objectives.
- Collaborate with functional, technical, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and business stakeholders.
- Lead incident resolution, root cause analysis, and problem management activities.
- Manage vendor relationships and coordinate support engagements with SAP and third-party providers.
- Participate in strategic planning, technology roadmaps, and SAP transformation initiatives.
Project Support
- Lead technical activities for SAP implementations, migrations, upgrades, and cloud transformation projects.
- Support SAP S/4HANA migration and modernization initiatives.
- Evaluate new SAP technologies and recommend improvements to system architecture and security posture.
- Provide technical expertise during project planning, design, testing, and deployment phases.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 8+ years of SAP Basis administration experience.
- 5+ years of SAP Security and Authorization experience.
- Experience supporting SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, SAP BW, SAP Fiori, SAP NetWeaver, and SAP Solution Manager.
- Strong knowledge of SAP transport management, system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with SAP user administration, role design, authorization concepts, and security audits.
- Hands-on experience with SAP HANA database administration and monitoring.
- Strong understanding of IT security principles, identity and access management, and compliance requirements.
- Experience leading technical teams and enterprise-scale SAP environments.
