POSITION OVERVIEW Information Systems Security Officer – Full-Time Location: Not specified Salary: $99,000 – $225,000 annually ABOUT THIS ROLE You will serve as an Information System Security Officer supporting government systems against advanced cyber threats. You will assess and document security configurations, lead risk discovery, align controls to policies, and guide clients through mitigation plans and authorization activities. You will translate security concepts into clear decisions and deliverables for mission-critical systems. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Detect, evaluate, and document security configurations for developmental and operational tools Assess security impacts and provide improvement recommendations Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors to select tools and techniques Translate customer IT needs and future goals into secure solution plans Lead critical network design reviews, propose alternatives, and tailor solutions to balance security and mission needs Advise clients on cyber risk discovery, applicable policies, and mitigation planning Oversee analysis of technical, environmental, and personnel factors across the threat landscape Guide clients through plans of action using presentations, white papers, and milestones Support security authorization activities to achieve and maintain ATO REQUIRED SKILLS ISSO or ISSA experience Tool assessments and configuration analysis against best practices, vendor specs, and government security requirements Security configuration oversight, maintenance, practices, and procedures for systems NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, ICD 503, RMF, and DoD Information Levels eMASS or Xacta IA Manager Risk analysis EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE 5+ years of experience as an ISSO or ISSA One of the following education and experience combinations: HS diploma or GED and 12+ years supporting IT projects and activities Associate’s degree and 10+ years supporting IT projects and activities Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years supporting IT projects and activities Master’s degree and 6+ years supporting IT projects and activities DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification, including CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, or SSCP Ability to obtain DoD 8570.01-M CSSP Infrastructure Support certification prior to start date, including CEH, CySA+, GICSP, SSCP, CHFI, CFR, Cloud+, or CND CLEARANCE & LOCATION Clearance: Active TS/SCI, polygraph required Employment: Full-Time Work Model: Remote, hybrid, or onsite based on role needs U.S. Citizenship Required
