Job Title: SAP Database AdministratorDuration: 12 Months Location: Plano TX (Hybrid)Payrate: $60.00 - 68.32/hr Description:The position of SAP Database Administrator (DBA) will be part of a team whose objective and responsibility will be to support IBM DB2 LUW and SAP HANA databases and maintain the systems at optimal performance, availability and efficiency. The DBA will be responsible for the planning, installation, configuration, maintenance and production monitoring of database instances and associated software tools. The individual will also provide assistance and consultation to other infrastructure staff and work within cross-functional teams.We need an excellent communicator with strong problem resolution skills who thrives on working in a team environment. In addition, we require:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institutionExcellent interpersonal, written and team collaboration skills10+ years of database administration experience, preferably with DB2 LUW and/or SAP HANAExperience supporting the SAP applicationsExperience working with infrastructure teams on DB2 and HANA database requirements and configuration best practiceExperience with SAP DB2/HANA installation, upgrade and HANA system migrationExperience working with SAP Data Warehousing and DB2 DPF environmentExperience with Database HA/DR technologiesExperience with database backup and recovery solutionsExperience with database configuration, monitoring, and performance tuningStrong analytical, problem solving, organizational, and planning skillsGood working knowledge of AIX and LinuxGood Experience in Shell/PHP/Perl scripting is highly desirableCapacity planning of database.Planning, installation, and maintenance of DB2 and HANA DBMS softwareImplementation of DB2 and HANA databases at an enterprise levelProvide expertise related to DB performance, HA/DR, and scalabilityDatabase security administrationDatabase monitoring with both ad-hoc tools and automated scripts or proceduresSupport/recommend reporting, query and analysis tools ensuring efficient database utilizationDiagnosis of problems and resolution for databaseDatabase performance monitoring and tuningWorking closely with SAP Basis and application team membersInterface with developers and modelers for performance and data access requirementsDevelopment of standards and procedures for the SAP database environmentConsultation with infrastructure teams on database requirements and configuration best practicePerform regularly scheduled database maintenanceStay current with new database technology developments and techniques, research new software and tools, proactively recommend improvementsEvaluation and utilization of software products to assist in the management of databaseEEO Employer Apex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
