SAP S/4HANA Test Analyst / Test EngineerJob Location : Irvine, California, 92618On-siteContractPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Test Analyst / Test Engineer to join theTesting Workstream of our critical greenfield SAP S/4HANA implementation. This is a high-impact role focused on designing, developing, and maintaining comprehensive test scenariosthat ensure the quality, integrity, and business readiness of the new S/4HANA solution.You will work closely with the Solution Delivery team, Business Analysts, FunctionalConsultants, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Business Process Owners (BPOs), andTraining/OCM teams to translate approved Business Process Design Documents (BPDDs),SAPARC outputs, and Fit-to-Standard analysis into detailed, traceable test scenarios. This roleis central to our SAP Activate-aligned testing strategy, supporting multiple cycles of SystemIntegration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Mock Go-Live rehearsals, andHypercare.The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and has strong expertisein creating end-to-end test cases for complex SAP implementations, particularly with integrationpoints (including Shopify DTC interfaces).Key Responsibilities● Master and Detailed Test Scenario Creation:○ Extract and analyze requirements from Jira (via Rovo AI), BPDDs, BusinessDesign Documents, and SAPARC.○ Develop comprehensive master scenarios and detailed test scripts, includingpreconditions, test data requirements, expected results, integration touchpoints,and Segregation of Duties (SoD) considerations.○ Leverage AI tools (e.g., Claude) to accelerate scenario generation while ensuringaccuracy and completeness.● Collaboration & Reviews:○ Partner with Business Analysts, Solution Architects, and Functional Consultantsduring solution walkthroughs.○ Coordinate and facilitate SME/BPO review sessions to validate that scenariosalign with business intent.○ Work with Training and OCM teams to ensure test scenarios support knowledgetransfer and user familiarization (using tools like Tango for session recording).● Test Data & Environment Management:○ Define and coordinate test data requirements and preparation activities.○ Ensure test data supports complex scenarios including integrations, edge cases,and high-volume DTC processes.● Test Execution Support:○ Load and manage test cases in Panaya and maintain bi-directionalsynchronization with Jira.○ Support execution of SIT cycles (3 planned), UAT cycles (2 planned),performance testing, and Mock Go-Live dress rehearsals.○ Participate in defect triage, root cause analysis, and retesting.● Traceability & Quality:○ Maintain full traceability from requirements to test cases and defects.○ Contribute to test progress reporting, dashboards, and Go/No-Go readinessassessments.● Continuous Improvement:○ Identify opportunities to enhance testing efficiency using AI-assisted tools andrisk-based testing approaches.○ Support Hypercare regression testing post go-live.Required Qualifications & Experience● 5+ years of experience as a Test Analyst / Test Engineer in SAP implementations, with at least 2–3 years specifically on SAP S/4HANA (greenfield preferred).● Strong understanding of the SAP Activate methodology and its testing phases (Discover, Explore, Realize, Deploy, Run).● Proven expertise in creating detailed end-to-end test scenarios across core SAP modules (OTC, PTP, RTR, etc.) and cross-module integrations.● Experience with Shopify DTC integrations or similar e-commerce platforms is highly desirable.● Hands-on experience with testing tools:○ Jira (including Rovo or similar AI extensions)○ Panaya (or equivalent test management tools like ALM, Azure DevOps)○ Test automation exposure is a plus● Familiarity with AI-assisted testing tools (Claude, Copilot, etc.) and session recordingtools (Tango or similar).● Solid knowledge of integration testing (EDI, APIs, middleware, webhooks).Key Skills & Competencies● Excellent analytical and documentation skills with strong attention to detail.● Ability to translate complex functional and technical requirements into clear, executabletest cases.● Strong collaboration and communication skills — able to work effectively with technicalteams, business SMEs, and leadership.● Experience in risk-based testing, defect management, and traceability matrixmaintenance.● Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing to a larger testingteam.Education● Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or relatedfield (or equivalent experience).
