Job Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior SAP ABAP Developer for a contract position to support our SAP ECC 6.0 environment. This role focuses on advanced custom development, system enhancements, and middleware integrations across core functional modules. The ideal candidate must possess extensive deep technical expertise to handle complex customizations, major system upgrades, and system architectural shifts.
Key Responsibilities
Customization & Enhancements
- Design and implement complex custom solutions using Object-Oriented ABAP (OO-ABAP).
- Develop robust custom reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms (RICEFW).
- Optimize legacy custom code to improve performance and minimize system overhead.
Upgrades & System Transformations
- Lead technical analysis, SPAU/SPDD modifications, and code remediation during upgrade projects.
- Apply deep technical knowledge of SAP architecture to support both Greenfield and Brownfield project methodologies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve critical runtime errors and syntax conflicts arising from support packages.
Integration & Middleware
- Build, monitor, and maintain high-performing interfaces using ALE/IDoc configurations.
- Manage seamless data exchange between SAP ECC and middleware products, specifically SAP BTP and IBM Sterling Integrator.
- Develop secure communication channels using Web Services, RFCs, BAPIs, and file-based transfers.
Technical Skills & Requirements
Core ABAP Expertise
- Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of dedicated, hands-on core SAP ABAP development experience.
- Enhancements: Expert-level mastery of BADIs, BAPIs, User Exits, Customer Exits, and the Enhancement Framework.
- Forms: Advanced development capabilities in Adobe Forms, SmartForms, and SAPscript.
Functional & Industry Solution Integration
- Core Modules: Strong technical knowledge of data structures and processes within SAP SD, MM, and FI.
- Industry Solution: Proven, hands-on development experience with SAP AFS (Apparel and Footwear Solution) is highly preferred.
