Role Overview An SAP PS Consultant is responsible for implementing and supporting SAP Project System solutions to manage project planning, execution, budgeting, and monitoring across industries like construction, engineering, and IT services.
Key Responsibilities - Gather and analyze business requirements related to project management
- Configure SAP PS components, including:
- Project Structures (WBS – Work Breakdown Structure)
- Networks and Activities
- Project Planning and Scheduling
- Cost Planning and Budgeting
- Project Execution and Monitoring
- Define and manage project lifecycles and milestones
- Integrate SAP PS with other modules such as:
- FI/CO (Finance & Controlling) – cost tracking
- MM (Materials Management) – procurement
- SD (Sales & Distribution) – billing
- Support integration with systems like SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC
- Manage project cost control, revenue recognition, and settlement processes
- Configure and support resource planning and capacity management
- Perform data migration and master data setup
- Troubleshoot system issues and provide ongoing support
- Participate in testing (unit testing, integration testing, UAT)
- Prepare documentation and train end users
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of SAP PS configuration and project management processes
- Hands-on experience with:
- WBS and project structuring
- Network activities and scheduling
- Costing, budgeting, and settlement
- Understanding of project lifecycle management
- Integration knowledge with FI/CO, MM, and SD modules
- Basic knowledge of ABAP debugging (preferred)
- Familiarity with SAP Fiori apps is an advantage
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, IT, or related field
- SAP PS certification (preferred)
- Experience in industries like construction, EPC, manufacturing, or IT projects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and stakeholder management abilities
