Clarkston Consulting is seeking a motivated, self-driven leader who values people-first development, with a focus on shaping knowledge management and professional development opportunities for consultants at an industry-leading consulting firm.
This role is based out of our office in Durham, NC. It is a hybrid role and will require you to work in the office 2 days/week.
What You’ll Do
As the Professional Development/Knowledge Management (PD/KM) Lead at Clarkston, you will:
- Partner with Service Business Unit (SBU) leadership and Service and Industry Community leaders to support the ongoing Core & Elective skills development of our stewards, the firm’s knowledge management needs, and Clarkston's long-range consulting strategy
- Serve as the lead for Core & Elective skills development, with responsibility for developing and managing project plans to support identified learning programs
- Provide appropriate visibility into project plans and results (Content Creation and Delivery) on a regular basis to appropriate firm leadership
- Proactively manage firm SMEs to creatively enable training and knowledge-sharing in support of the firm’s skills development and knowledge management goals
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and business leaders to assess learning needs and design interactive, timely, and engaging training experiences (virtual and in-person) that align with business goals and enhance consultant capabilities
- Evaluate training effectiveness and measure business impact through assessment data, performance outcomes, and key metrics to demonstrate return on investment and inform continuous improvement
- Stay current on emerging trends in training innovation and consulting industry needs to ensure learning strategies remain forward-thinking and aligned with client expectations
- Oversee the regular review and maintenance of key knowledge assets, including the firm’s Delivery Methodologies and corresponding tools & templates.
- Ensure effective tracking, reporting, and measurement of business outcomes/results for all Training and KM programs (e.g., employee survey results, consultants with multiple billable skills, billable in new skill area, etc.)
- Support our Business Development team by providing relevant training metrics and benchmarking data as needed
- Monitor and oversee completion of steward certifications to meet partnership alliance requirements (e.g. SAP, Veeva, etc.)
- Serve as a change champion for the continued organizational mindset shift around professional development, learning execution strategies, and knowledge management
- Support continuous improvement efforts around PD and KM processes by executing, marketing, and leading change management programs to support PD and KM strategy
- Other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For
- Knowledge of learning and development best practices, strategic talent management, workforce planning, and consulting marketplace is highly desirable
- Experience applying instructional design principles to develop engaging, interactive training programs (virtual and in-person) in partnership with subject matter experts
- Demonstrated expertise in assessing learning effectiveness and demonstrating business impact through data analysis, performance metrics, and evaluation frameworks
- Awareness of emerging trends and innovations in learning (e.g., AI-driven solutions, digital learning technologies) and the ability to apply them to enhance learning strategies
- Strong interpersonal skills with experience leading and managing diverse teams that include both direct and indirect reports
- Ability to lead and coach stewards across the firm
- Excellent writing, presentation, and oral communication skills with a proven ability to communicate clearly and effectively to audiences at all levels
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills and attention to detail
- Capacity to serve as a trusted advisor and to handle and work with a high level of confidential human resources information, company information, and related materials
- Track record of success in juggling multiple priorities and tasks to achieve deadlines in a fast-paced consulting environment
- Proficient in Office 365 – especially PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint
- 4-year degree in business, education, human resources, instructional design, organizational development, or a related field from an accredited college or university
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of the consulting industry and its terminology and processes
- Experience in our key industries: Life Sciences, Consumer Products, Retail, and/or Professional Services
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems
Travel Requirement
This is a hybrid role that will require you to work in the office 2 days/week. Travel will also be required at least twice a year for our bi-annual Company Meeting and other trainings.
