We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of SAP Engineering & Operations to lead the design, development, and technical operations of our SAP landscape. In this role you will deliver scalable, secure, and compliant SAP solutions that meet evolving business needs across the enterprise.
As the ideal candidate you will have a deep understanding of SAP architecture (on-prem, cloud including SAP RISE), a commitment to maintaining a clean core, and a strong background in leading engineering practices such as automated testing, CI/CD, and system upgrades. You’ll specifically be responsible for the following:
Technical Leadership & Solution Architecture
- Lead end-to-end technical operations and engineering for all SAP systems, including S/4HANA, BTP, and integrated platforms.
- Lead solution architect and project managers to design scalable SAP solutions that align with complex and unique business requirements while adhering to SAP core platform designs.
- Define and enforce clean core principles to ensure sustainable system design and extensibility.
- Partner with functional and business leaders to develop SAP engineering roadmaps aligned with strategic goals.
System Operations & Engineering Excellence
- Oversee system reliability, performance, scalability, and availability across all SAP environments (dev, test, prod).
- Implement modern engineering practices including automated testing, continuous integration, and quality assurance protocols.
- Lead and continuously improve SAP patching, upgrade, and release management processes.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure SAP environments meet internal and external compliance, audit, and security requirements.
- Drive proactive risk identification and mitigation strategies across SAP platforms.
- Oversee disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity planning, testing, and readiness for SAP systems.
Program and Stakeholder Management
- Lead major SAP technical initiatives including system upgrades, platform migrations, and infrastructure transformations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with business and IT stakeholders, SAP partners, and vendors.
- Develop and manage the budget for SAP engineering including tools, licensing, and resources.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor a high-performing SAP engineering team including architects, developers, and basis/technical specialists.
- Promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure the team stays current with SAP technology trends and certifications.

The compensation range for this position in the US is $207,840 to $395,040 based on a full-time schedule. Your actual compensation may vary depending on your geography, job-related skills, and experience. For part-time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately. The pay or salary range will not be below any applicable state, city, or local minimum wage requirement.
This position will be eligible for Kyndryl's discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Kyndryl's applicable plans. You may also receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave and paid time off. Note: if this is a sales commission eligible role, you will be eligible to participate in a sales commission plan in lieu of the annual discretionary bonus program.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in SAP technical leadership roles with deep expertise in SAP architecture and engineering.
- Proven track record managing SAP environments including S/4HANA, SAP BTP, and cloud integrations.
- Hands-on experience with SAP upgrade planning and execution, patch management, and performance optimization.
- Strong understanding of clean core design principles and extensibility frameworks (e.g., BTP, APIs).
- Experience implementing automated testing and DevOps practices in SAP landscapes.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance, risk management, and DR/BCP practices in enterprise IT environments.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and agile methodologies.
